Marble Flooring

Marble is a non-foliated metamorphic rock resulting from the metamorphism of limestone, composed mostly of calcite. It is extensively used in flooring applications. The word "marble" is colloquially used to refer to many other stones that are capable of taking a high polish. While marble has good stain resistance, marble is more porous than granite. Certain marbles can stain quite readily. Common household liquids such as orange juice, nail polish remover, shampoo, and even water can cause serious stains in certain marbles. We recommend the use of neutral pH breathable sealers for marble.

Once the sealers have been applied. These natural stone sealers need to be reapplied on a regular basis, depending upon how much use or foot traffic that the marble is exposed to. Color and style choices for marble floors are vast. We recommend selecting samples and looking at them under your home lighting conditions so you can make an accurate choice.
